Waiting on the World to Change

Blogging - Inspired by

proper picture

I seem to be doing a lot of waiting. Waiting and watching the world go by as others are swinging for the fences, aiming to reach the horizon. And as much as i'm enjoying waiting to see what appears from just over the horizon, i feel motionless, useless. I require at least a little direction for the moment. It's too easy to get stuck answering "no idea" to everyone asking where my life is going.

I'm surrounded by wonderful people, all rushing by in the hustle and bustle of reality while i'm stuck in the middle watching it all happen, akin to Alex in clockwork orange, with no option of closing his eyes and escaping.

Last night reminded me of two things;

I've lost touch with far too many people that matter

The joy of getting to know people that might matter

These can provide a direction for now. Remember the people, they are important. I'll take the scary with the exciting. I'll grab hold of the friendships and wonder why we ever drifted. I'll let relationships evolve without pre-emption. I'll take the time, take the initiative, be the one that gets back in touch and enjoy seeing what happens. See where things go.

When it comes to people, waiting is all part of the fun. Everything else can wait.
